Mom, I'm famous!
My blog was recently featured shortly featured in an amazing channel intro by the up and coming entertainment Wünderkind (and a friend who's very near and dear to me), ScentsOfJuniper! It's a video talking about the reason many people on Bearblog, or any other personal blogging service, started their blogs: the nostalgia towards the old internet. A time where you connected to the internet for a determined reason, not because every device ever needs access to a damned cloud.
I've been trying to spend more time on 'offline' hobbies, but that doesn't mean I've ran away from the internet. Videos like ScentsOfJuniper's are what keep the internet alive; small and personal videos that feed people trying to find genuine content without engagementmaxxing and mr be*st-pilled elements. The Indieweb has been one of the best things that has happened to me ever since I started using tiktok so many years ago; I have actually deleted my social media, degoogled my phone (actually feel liberated) and have had genuine connections both online and irl and I feel very confident attributing it all to leaving behind big tech (as much as I can of course).
I've been embracing that everything we know, and that which we don't, is impermanent so I'm trying to enjoy it while I can.
