Staring a chapter

I can finally breathe.

Exams have finished, my thoughts are starting to take shape into something usable, and it feels like a calm has washed over me.

Having embraced the IndieWeb, I have started feeling excited when using the internet again. Before, there was this monotony to grabbing my phone/opening my laptop and just shutting off my brain to slop. Now I've started marking down memorable quotes I read, hoping to inspire my future self whenever they need a pick-me-up. I've started following along with the IndieWeb Book Club, this month it being The Art of Explanation; I've been known leave books by the sideline in the middle of reading one, so I'll try to give a book review by the end of the month!! I'm still discovering many things, but I hope to create a comfy and carefully curated feed for me to enjoy from now on.

I'm even meeting with friends this coming week. For a long time I've been okay with being a loner, not glad but also not sad about it. But as I got older and my brain matured (bro thinks he's an unc at 24 :sob:), I can see that you can only experience so many things for yourself. Interacting with people, family, friends, strangers, is a way of expanding your experiences. I might never get an epiphany about a certain subject, but a friend of mine can. And if that friend tells me about that, I can have a feel for that experience. I feel like I've been living life on auto pilot for a long time and it's finally time for me to take back control and steer things my own way.

As for my experience to you; choose your goals according to who you are, don't change yourself into who you need to be for your goals. I've had this urge to do things a certain way for years, but that only impeded what I could really do. It may be hard to change goals when you're in a rut, but even slightly nudging your goal in a more comfortable direction can make a big difference.

For to give advice to a man who asks what to do with his life implies something very close to egomania. To presume to point a man to the right and ultimate goal— to point with a trembling finger in the RIGHT direction is something only a fool would take upon himself.

I will end my post wishing anyone reading this a good night, be it morning or midnight. I simply hope you will rest well tonight. That's the least I could do for the time you have given me.
